Pilota Italiaracing 2014: Matteo Gonfiantini

Eccoci pronti per l’assegnazione dell’Oscar 2014, ovvero il Pilota Italiaracing dell’anno, colui che riteniamo essere il miglior giovane tricolore in ascesa. Fin dalla sua prima edizione nel 2004, vengono prese in considerazione categorie per monoposto non superiori alla F.3 mentre per regolamento chi ha già ricevuto il “titolo” di Pilota Italiaracing non può più partecipare alla selezione. E’ il caso questa stagione di Antonio Fuoco, vincitore nel 2013 e quindi non inserito quest’anno nonostante abbia corso con ottimi risultati nel campionato FIA F.3. Per questa stagione, dopo la solita attenta disamina dei campionati, i nomi selezionati sono otto: Ignazio D’Agosto (Eurocup Renault), Mattia Drudi (F.4), Andrea Fontana (F.4), Antonio Giovinazzi (FIA F.3), Matteo Gonfiantini (Renault ALPS), Leonardo Pulcini (F.4), già Kartista Italiaracing 2013, Alessio Rovera (Renault ALPS), Andrea Russo (F.4).

Il giovane Matteo Gonfiantini è stato una delle più interessanti sorprese della Renault ALPS, piuttosto povera in quanto a presenze di piloti italiani. Il toscano, in arrivo dal karting a livello nazionale, si è inserito bene nella TS Corse e con coraggio, in lotta col budget, è cresciuto sempre più ottenendo risultati interessanti considerando l’alto livello della categoria. Gonfiantini non potrà che crescere in vista del 2015.
