LA TS CORSE RADDOPPIA CON IL ROOKIE GONFIANTINI

Per il toscano classe 1997 si tratterà dell’esordio in monoposto dopo i trascorsi in kart

Non una ma due monoposto, quest’anno, per la TS Corse. Dopo avere già annunciato la presenza di Pietro Peccenini, alla sua seconda stagione nella Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS, la squadra che fa capo a Stefano Turchetto ha confermato anche il nome di Matteo Gonfiantini, che scenderà in pista con la seconda vettura gestita dal team lombardo.

Il giovane toscano di Pistoia, classe ’97, aveva fatto la sua prima apparizione in occasione dei test che si sono svolti sul circuito di Vallelunga due settimane fa e, in quella circostanza, Gonfiantini era riuscito subito a impressionare positivamente.

Questa sarà per lui, la prima stagione in assoluto in monoposto; una stagione che gli servirà senz’altro per acquisire esperienza, cercando allo stesso tempo di mettersi in luce in un contesto internazionale come quello che è in grado di offrire la serie “giovane” della Fast Lane Promotion.

Dopo il kart, l’ALPS rappresenta per me la “prima volta”. – ha detto Gonfiantini – Il team TS Corse è sicuramente la scelta più giusta che potevo fare. Ho trovato subito una squadra molto professionale, che potrà darmi una vettura competitiva. Nei test di Vallelunga, dopo pochi giri ho sentito che potevo instaurare un feeling ideale con la monoposto, ma non ho voluto azzardare. Con il passare delle tornate ho acquisito sicurezza, pur facendo qualche piccolo errore. Ma penso sia normale… Il livello del campionato è molto alto. Dovrò rimanere concentrato per essere competitivo“.

A Vallelunga, Matteo ci ha fatto subito capire che il potenziale c’è. Fin dal primo momento si è mostrato molto attento a seguire i consigli che gli davamo. Sono veramente felice di averlo in squadra. Assieme a Peccenini formerà una bella coppia: un pilota esperto ed uno alle prime armi, di più non potevamo chiedere” sono state le parole di Turchetto.

Il prossimo impegno in pista è adesso programmato per l’11 e 12 marzo, in occasione di altre due sessioni di test che si svolgeranno a Imola, lo stesso tracciato che il primo weekend di aprile ospiterà l’appuntamento inaugurale del calendario 2014.
