After The Summer Break Once More Duel Time In Mugello For F.Renault 2.0 ALPS

09.04.2013 Articles

Penultimate F.Renault 2.0 ALPS venue on the upcoming weekend (6-8 September) in Mugello. On one of the most challenging and technically demanding tracks, the Series will be at its sixth out of the seven Season double venues. The fight for the title is restricted to the top four, with the top three all racing for Prema and within just 24 points. Fourth is the Swiss Kevin Joerg. This is the thrilling finale of the Season with the last venue scheduled in Imola at the beginning of October. Best of the group is still the rookie Antonio Fuoco, 17y/o from Italy, probably the real crack of the season, with four wins. Then his team mates Bruno Bonifacio, talented Brazilian with three wins so far, and the Italian Luca Ghiotto (him too with three wins so far). Still some chances for the Jenzer Motorsport Swiss driver. However the show will still be represented on the Tuscanian track by the 30 cars grid.

Spotlights on for some comebacks. Starting from the French Arta Engineering William Vermont, going to the two Koiranen GP drivers, the Dutch Nyck de Vries and the Brazialian Guilherme Silva, third overall in the Vallelunga round. Watch out for the other French Pierre Gasly (Tech1 Racing), twice on podium in the first two opening rounds seizing a second overall in Imola. Among those constantly racing in the Series Hans Villemi has to be pointed out being capable of an improving second half of the season that brought him two fourth places in Monza and Misano. The Estonian, along with the two Russians Semen Evstigneev and Nikita Zlobin and the Polish Alex Bosak, will race for SMP Racing by Koiranen GP. Then there is the other Russian Egor Orudzhev, second overall at the end of July in Misano and him too racing for Tech1 Racing that will have a third car for the Canadian Luke Chudleigh. Watch out for the three drivers of Interwetten.com: the Mexican Alejandro Abogado, the Portuguese Francisco Mora and the Russian Konstantin Tereshchenko, the latest being the fastest during the recent tests held in Mugello just one week ago.

Concerning the other Italian teams there will be as usual the BVM Racing with the Italian Dario Capitanio and the Indian Parth Ghorpade. Andrea Baiguera (Italy) will be as usual with Brixia Horse Power. Three spears for Euronova Racing: the Venezuelan Javier Amado, the Scottish Gregor Ramsay and the Japanese Ukyo Sasahara. With GSK Grand Prix there will only be Dzhon Simonyan. TS Corse, with Pietro Peccenini, and Viola Formula Racing, with Daniele Cazzaniga, will complete the grid.

Friday will be dedicated to the three free practice sessions. On Saturday the two 30 minutes qualifying sessions (one session per group) starting from 10.15. Still on Saturday Race 1 green light set at 17.05. Race 2 is scheduled on Sunday at 13.40. The whole event will be live broadcasted on the web at www.renaultsportitalia.it.
